Meet the group

Here is an introduction to each of the members of the 4Shaw Heath group, they tell you what they are doing at college and what their favourite part of the project has been.

I am Ryan, im studying Brickwork at Stockport College and it's going really well. i have also been involved in the 4 Shaw Heath project which i have really enjoyed, the best bit is the sports that we get to do every week, particularly the football. The development of the park has been really interesting to see and i have had a go on the outdoor exercise equipment.

My name is Mark, i am studying Brickwork at Stockport College which is really cool. I enjoyed being part of the 4 Shaw Heath project, my favourite thing is the equipment at the outdoor gym. I think the gym is a great idea as it will keep local youths off the street and give them somewhere to go.

Hi im Dylan, i go to Stockport College where i am studying catering. I have enjoyed the 4 Shaw Heath project and have been involved in doing different activities and learning new skills such as Film making, website design and watching the chain sawing. I liked the equipment that was chosen for the gym, however the colour isn't one i would have chosen.

My name is Declan, but everbody calls me Dizzy!. I am a student at Stockport College studying Care. I have also been involved in the 4 Shaw Heath project and really enjoyed the variety of different activities that i have had the chance to experience. This course has helped me progress to another course at a higher level.

Visit to the gym

Last week we went to Shaw Heath Park and looked at the new Gym that has been instoled and tryed out the new equipment, the bike was one of the best part of the gym. It was bright and eye catching but Ryan didnt like the colour Green, he thought it was too bright, he suggested that it should be red and black.

Dizzy thought that the whole gym was a good idea to have in the park, he thought the colours were funky and bright and will attract young people to try it out and have a go, its great way to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Dylan thought the green gym equipment was not a great colour to choose but it was a good idea to have a gym outside. The equipment was easy to use and you can spend as long as you want on it, and go on it at any time of the day.

Mark thought the gym was a great idea and a good way to keep the young people of the street and getting them involved with something positive and the colour of the equipment stands out.
